A Closer Look at Our Award-Winning Services

Our success at D for Dogz is not by chance but by a comprehensive, scientifically backed approach to dog training and care. Our founder, Kaajal Tiwary, an expert in canine behavior, utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This method involves observing dogs’ natural behaviors and systematically applying interventions that modify these behaviors toward positive outcomes.

ABA is renowned for its effectiveness in teaching coping skills, improving behavioral responses, and enhancing social interactions, making it pivotal in our training approach.

In-depth Service Breakdown:

  • Group Classes: These classes are essential for fostering social skills and obedience in dogs of all ages. By training in a group setting, dogs learn to coexist peacefully and respond to commands even in the presence of distractions. This is crucial for real-world interactions where different stimuli are present. Each class is structured to ensure personalized attention, ensuring no dog is left behind in their learning journey.
  • Private Training: Customized to each dog’s unique needs, our private sessions address specific behavioral challenges such as aggression, anxiety, or excessive barking.  These one-on-one sessions allow for intense focus and tailored interventions that are most effective for the dog’s specific issues. Private training is particularly beneficial for dogs that may not thrive in a group environment or require specialized attention.
  • Puppy Training: The early stages of a dog’s life are critical for their development. Our puppy training programs emphasize early socialization, introducing puppies to various environments, sounds, and beings to boost their confidence and adaptability. We also instill basic obedience commands and potty training from a young age, which is foundational for a well-behaved adult dog.
  • Boarding Services: Our boarding services go beyond simple care; they replicate a nurturing home environment. We understand that being away from their owners can be stressful for dogs, so we strive to make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Our facility is designed to feel like a home, with comfortable bedding, ample play areas, and constant supervision. Dogs are grouped by size and temperament to ensure they play safely and are not overwhelmed. Owners receive regular updates and photos to keep them connected with their pets, providing peace of mind while away.

Each of these services is designed to meet and exceed the basic needs of our clients, providing a transformative experience for dogs and their owners. This dedication to excellence in every aspect of our training and care is why we were recognized in the 2024 Best in Silicon Valley Readers’ Choice Awards.

FAQS

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a systematic approach to improving or changing behaviors by applying interventions based on the principles of learning theory. In the context of dog training, ABA helps us understand and modify a dog’s behavior in a controlled and predictable way, improving their ability to learn, adapt, and interact socially. This method is particularly effective in addressing complex behavioral issues and building a strong foundation for good habits.
Group classes are suitable for dogs of most ages and breeds, but we require a preliminary assessment to ensure your dog can handle the group environment productively. This assessment helps us determine if your dog needs individual training to manage anxiety or aggression that could disrupt learning in a group setting.

Our private training sessions are tailored to address various behavioral issues including, but not limited to, aggression, fear, anxiety, excessive barking, jumping on people, pulling on the leash, and other forms of reactive behavior. We also help with advanced obedience training, behavioral conditioning, and any specific requests or concerns that a pet owner might have.

Safety and comfort are our top priorities at our boarding facility. We evaluate and group all dogs based on their size, temperament, and energy levels to promote safe and enjoyable interactions. Our facility has state-of-the-art security and monitoring systems, and staff is on-site 24/7. Each dog can access individual resting areas and supervised play sessions throughout the day.

Puppy training can begin as soon as your puppy has received the necessary vaccinations, typically around eight weeks of age. Training early is crucial as it helps prevent the development of undesirable behaviors and sets the foundation for a well-adjusted adult dog. Early training emphasizes socialization, basic commands, potty training, and early desensitization to various stimuli, helping puppies grow into confident and obedient dogs.
