Puppy Socials

Puppy Socials are for puppies 8 to 20 weeks of age

D for Dogz knows early puppy socialization is critical for young puppies to develop into well-adjusted and happy adult dogs. Our Puppy Socials offer a safe and supervised environment for puppies to interact with others their age, learn critical social skills, and have fun.

AVSAB says: The Primary and most important time for puppy socialization is the first three months of life. During this time puppies should be exposed to as many new people, animals, stimuli and environments as can be achieved safely and without causing overstimulation manifested as excessive fear, withdrawal or avoidance behavior.

Our experienced trainers will guide the puppy play sessions and help your puppy build confidence and positive associations with other dogs. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions about puppy play. Tailored for puppies aged 8 to 20 weeks, these sessions are more than just playtime; they’re a foundational step towards a well-adjusted adult dog.

FAQs

Puppies should have:

  • First round of DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) – This is typically given at 6-8 weeks.

  • Fecal Test Results: done within the last month

  • Your puppy must be under 16 weeks old to start our socials and can continue attending regularly until they reach 26 weeks of age. This allows us to monitor their play style and confidence level.

  • If your puppy is less than 10 lbs, shy, afraid, too timid or anxious, we will slowly introduce them to the group at their own pace. You can also check our small puppy classes at Pet Food Express in Campbell.

Please bring:

  • Small bite size food rewards (Badlands Ranch, Raw Rewards, Pure Bites, Just Food For Dogs). Single ingredient freeze dried food is great.
  • Water and their bowl.
  • Please feed your puppy its breakfast.
All registrations for puppy socials are non-refundable & non-transferable.
We sanitize the area for puppy socials by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces and objects using pet-safe cleaning products.

Positive interactions at puppy socials help build your puppy’s confidence, teach them appropriate social behaviors, and reduce fear and aggression. These interactions are essential for your puppy’s development into a sociable and well adjusted adult dog.

What Our Clients Say

“I took several classes with D For Dog and loved all of them. I really enjoyed that many of the classes were held in different locations around town so your pup gets to practice the skills in the real world.”

“The one thing that sets Kaajal apart from other trainers is that she uses Positive reinforcement methods and is remarkably good at training humans in how they connect with their puppy as that sets the right foundation.”
