Puppy & Dog Boarding Bay Area

A Home-Based Staycation with Structure & Care.

More than boarding – a familiar home environment where your dog lives with a certified professional dog trainer and receives structure and care that truly support their well-being.

Why Board with D For Dogz?

Leaving your dog behind shouldn’t feel stressful—for you or your pup.

Our puppy and dog boarding is designed as a true home away from home, not a chaotic kennel or crate-and-rotate setup. Your dog enjoys a calm, structured, home-based staycation that prioritizes comfort, routine, and emotional well-being.

We maintain the training, structure, and habits you’ve worked so hard to build, so your dog doesn’t come home overwhelmed, overstimulated, or “forgetting everything.” Daily routines, thoughtful management, and enrichment ensure your pup feels safe, understood, and settled—especially important for puppies, sensitive dogs, and dogs who thrive on predictability.

Because boarding shouldn’t undo your progress. It should protect it.

Whether you’re traveling for work or taking a much-needed break, you can relax knowing your dog is cared for in a professional, structured, and loving home environment—not just watched, but genuinely supported.

Have a dog or people selective pup?

You’re not alone. (We’re a little people-selective ourselves 😉.)

🐾 We get it. Not every dog thrives in busy, social boarding environments—and that’s okay.

🐾 We thoughtfully accommodate dogs who need space from other dogs or unfamiliar people.

🐾 We board dogs with separation anxiety, leash reactivity, and human-directed aggression, using structured management and low-stress care.

🐾 Our education and experience allow us to safely support dogs with behavioral and emotional needs, not just “easy” dogs.

🐾 We collaborate with your trainer and veterinary behaviorist to maintain consistency and protect the progress your dog has already made.

Boarding Rates & Requirements

Daily Boarding Rate: $200

Drop Off and Pick Up time: Between 9 and 10 am.

Each stay includes:

  • Multiple supervised enrichment and play sessions

  • Structured walks

  • Evening quiet time to support rest and decompression

  • A daily routine that helps dogs feel settled—not overstimulated

This is not a daycare-style boarding environment. Availability is intentionally limited to ensure individualized care and safety.

Please note: Boarding focuses on care, management, and maintaining routines. Formal training sessions are not included unless otherwise arranged.

Special Care Boarding Rate: $250 per day

Dogs with separation anxiety or who are selective about people or other dogs require additional supervision, hands-on management, and trainer presence throughout the day.

For these dogs, the daily boarding rate is $250, as the trainer must remain home for most of the day to support:

  • Emotional regulation and decompression

  • Individualized routines and safety planning

  • A calm, predictable environment with minimal stress

This rate reflects the increased time, presence, and professional expertise required to meet your dog’s needs.

Pre-Boarding Assessment: $145 (45 minutes)

All dogs are required to complete a pre-boarding assessment prior to their first stay.

Held at the trainer’s home, this session allows us to:

  • Review your dog’s history, routines, and emotional needs

  • Confirm fit and safety within a home-based environment

  • Answer your questions and set clear expectations for boarding

This step helps ensure a successful and low-stress experience for your dog.

Mandatory Trial Boarding

🐾 A 1–2 day trial boarding stay is required before any extended boarding dates. This allows your dog to acclimate gradually and helps us confirm that our environment is the right fit.

Boarding FAQs

If you’re asking this question, you’re already doing right by your dog.

Every dog is an individual, and choosing the right boarding environment isn’t about finding any place—it’s about finding the right fit for your dog’s personality, emotional needs, and routine.

D For Dogz is not a boarding facility. It’s a real home.
Your dog lives in a calm, structured, home-based environment—not a kennel, not a crate-and-rotate setup, and not a busy daycare.

Your dog is cared for by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer with extensive experience supporting dogs with fear-based behaviors, reactivity, and aggression. This means your dog’s behavior is understood, respected, and thoughtfully managed—not judged or mishandled.

We encourage pet parents to:

  • Read our reviews on Google, Facebook, and Yelp to hear directly from other dog owners

  • Ask about our education and training background—we’re transparent and happy to share

  • Understand our daily routines, feeding schedules, and how we handle real-life situations

  • Discuss any special needs or medical considerations, which we can thoughtfully accommodate

For your dog’s safety and well-being, we require up-to-date vaccinations and a current fecal test for all boarding dogs.

To set your dog up for success, we also require a trial overnight stay. This allows your dog to get comfortable in our home and ensures the environment is the right fit before an extended stay.

Most importantly, we want you to feel confident and at ease.
You’re welcome to schedule a consultation or reach out with questions—we’ll walk you through the process so you feel genuinely good about leaving your dog in our care.

Because peace of mind—for you and your dog—matters.

Getting started is simple.

Begin by clicking the “Contact Us” button above to reach out. We’ll guide you through the next steps and answer any questions you may have to ensure boarding is the right fit for your dog.

These requirements help us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all dogs in our care.

Our goal is to keep transitions calm and predictable while offering flexibility whenever we can.

The trial boarding stay is designed to set your dog up for success—emotionally and practically—before a longer stay.

Safety and Comfort
The trial period allows your dog to gradually adjust to our home, routines, and people in a calm, low-stress way. This helps ensure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and supported in our care.

Thoughtful Evaluation
We observe how your dog settles in, handles time away from home, and responds to a new environment. This insight helps us plan appropriately for a longer stay and avoid unnecessary stress or surprises.

Personalized Care Planning
Based on the trial stay, we fine-tune routines, management, and care strategies to better meet your dog’s individual needs—so their extended boarding experience is smooth and successful.

Ultimately, the trial stay isn’t a test—it’s a gentle introduction that protects your dog’s well-being and helps everyone feel confident moving forward.

What Our Clients Say

“Kaajal is an amazing trainer who has helped so much with our hyper-active and anxious borador, Faye! What I love best of all is that Kaajal LOVES every pet. She knows them by name, personality, and she’s always so happy and enthusiastic, very patient and practices positive-reinforcement training only — that we feel GOOD about doing with our baby!”

DogSonali M, Mom of Faye, a Lab-Collie (Day School & Boarding Client)

“Kaajal is truly gifted when it comes to helping dogs & dog parents. My rescue pup is fearful of other dogs and strangers. We’ve been working with her on managing his anxieties and I trust her judgement implicitly. Having a reactive dog can be very challenging and I have had to lean on Kaajal countless times for advice & support. She is my dog’s favorite person!”
